Biography: Diane Calta, a native of the Greater Cleveland area, has been employed with Diemert & Associates for over a decade. After graduating from Saint Mary’s College, Ms. Calta earned her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1997. She returned to Ohio and was admitted to practice law in 1999. Prior to returning to Ohio, Ms. Calta held employment in both the private and public sectors of the legal field, including a position with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office in South Bend, Indiana where she worked as a Victims’ Coordinator with the Domestic Violence division.
Since joining the firm, Ms. Calta has focused her practice in the areas of litigation, municipal law, estate planning and probate law, real estate law, employment law and corporate law. She currently serves as an Assistant Director of Law in Mayfield Village advising the Mayor and other municipal officials and employees on a day to day basis, as well as drafting legislation and legal opinions on municipal issues, including planning and zoning, and public records laws. She has also served as an Assistant to the Director of Law for several other municipalities, including Chagrin Falls and Bentleyville. In addition to her public sector clients, Ms. Calta advises and represents numerous private corporations on various issues arising out of the course of their businesses. Through the years, Ms. Calta has become an experienced litigator, advocating for her public and private clients at both the state and federal level. She has worked to obtain successful verdicts in a landlord tenant matter, eminent domain proceedings, a matter involving ERISA violations and a case involving stormwater damage to a property owner against a multi billion dollar company.
