A native of the Greater Cleveland area, Attorney Daniel Powell attended
Cleveland-Marshall College of Law where he earned Dean’s List status and
won appointment to the school’s nationally renowned Moot Court team.
He joined the firm as an Associate in 2006. Prior to working for
Diemert & Associates, Mr. Powell held employment with the Regional
Counsel’s Office for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and has worked
for a large, private corporate law firm as well.
Mr. Powell’s areas of focus are civil litigation, municipal law and
employment law. His clients have included political subdivisions,
public officials, public employees, public employee bargaining units,
private sector businesses, and private individuals. Mr. Powell has
advocated for his various clients’ rights through both administrative
and judicial proceedings.
He has appeared as lead counsel before administrative boards and
commissions, including the State Employment Relations Board, numerous
trial courts, Ohio’s Eighth District Court of Appeals, the U.S. District
Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the U.S. Sixth Circuit
Court of Appeals in Cincinnati. He has acted as lead counsel in both a
jury trial and a bench trial setting, successfully obtaining verdicts in
his clients’ favor.
