We here at Deimert and Associates would like to provide a little history for you, your Executive Board and your members to consider when addressing your future legal needs.
Joe Diemet’s father was a firefighter with the City of South Euclid which led to Joe’s involvement in firefighters’ issues at that department. Word spread amongst the departments that a firefighters son was an attorney who represented them.
Joe’s and the firm’s involvement in firefighting activities expanded when Joe became involved with the Cleveland firefighters and, as well, became involved as a general counsel for the Northern Ohio Firefighters Association. Not only did these activities include pre-collective bargaining contract negotiations, but Civil Services appeals too.
Joe and the firm assisted in the drafting and lobbying efforts that took place that led to the successful adoption of the Collective Bargaining Act. Joe successfully fought that fight through the Ohio Supreme Court to defend collective bargaining for not only the firefighters in the State of Ohio but all public safety forces and public employees.
